This painting is inspired, like others in this collection, by so many trips to St Ive’s In Cornwall. I love the shapes of all the buildings along the harbour and tried to capture the essence of each one. The fishing boats are quite special here and I’ve taken hundreds of photos of them and use these as reference material when simplifying the boat shapes.
