Despite the 39 degrees (who doesn’t love the sunshine ☀️), it was wonderful to go and visit Polla Posavec at her ‘Home Amongst The Gum Trees’ exhibition @ellishousearts Did you see the RED DOTS 🔴?? As you may have seen in yesterday’s short video (check it out via my Reels tab), I’ve recently committed to #sketchdaily and have finished my first full sketchbook in years! Here’s three great reasons why I believe having a daily sketching habit will help you: 1. Practice makes perfect right? Well, no…but it certainly enables you to massively improve your skills. The more you create the better you’ll get, simple. 2. It’s a chance to try out different media. Why not use all those art supplies you’ve bought over the years and experiment with different ways of working them together. After all you’re not looking for a finished product here so anything goes! 3. Make a mess and have fun. This is your chance to not only try out different media but also subject matter. Draw things you wouldn’t normally. Really push yourself and get out of your comfort zone! Lastly, by sharing your sketchbook practice with others you hold yourself accountable and you can also see your own personal growth.
